HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION

There are many reasons why an engine consumes oil. Abnormal oil consumption can be caused by such things as:
- mechanical wear
- dirty/scorched valves
- stuck piston rings
- worn/broken piston rings
- excessive demands

THE PROBLEM
High Oil consumption as a consequence of mechanical wear in combination with soiling is one of the most commonly occurring causes of oil consumption. As engines get older, soiling occurs and the piston rings and the cylinder wall begin to wear. A gap is formed between the piston and the cylinder wall, allowing oil to escape into the combustion chamber. This oil is partly combusted in the combustion chamber. The uncombusted portion causes exhaust smoke, which can be a sign of serious wear. As the engine heats up, the oil (including multigrade) gets thinner and more oil will escape. This in turn causes more smoke, carbon deposits and soiled spark plugs. At the same time, fuel vapours and exhaust gases escape around the piston rings, which in turn results in a loss of compression and power.

THE SOLUTION

HOW IT WORKS
The ANTICARBON cleaner does an excellent job at cleaning the cylinder block of both petrol and diesel engines. It frees stuck piston rings and hydraulic lifters. It cleans cylinders, pistons and valves, which reduces oil consumption.

The VITAFLUSH cleaner is an intensive cleaner for the engine oil system with a revitalising effect.
The XADO ENGINE OIL ensures a good seal and in doing so improves compression and the engine’s performance.
The TORALIN OIL PRESSURE BOOSTER ensures fast results by rapidly applying a film to the friction surfaces.    
XADO REVITALIZANT repairs and prevents wear on all friction surfaces, cylinder walls and piston rings. This means that the oil can no longer escape around the pistons and combust in the combustion chamber.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Note:    If the piston rings are completely worn or broken, or the valve caps are worn, the problem of oil consumption cannot be fully resolved. If the oil consumption happens suddenly, for example after a major repair, then there is no mechanical wear and no point in performing the treatment.

First check whether you are using the correct grade of oil. It is very important that you use oil of the correct specification (viscosity) because the wrong type of oil can cause problems including: Serious wear, soiling of the engine, a noisy engine, greater oil consumption, a poorly running engine, less power, higher fuel consumption.

Your car’s maintenance booklet will usually contain the specification stipulated by the manufacturer; we recommend that you comply with this. You can always ask our technical department about which XADO oil is suitable for your car.

Step 1. Cleaning the cylinder block
The first step is to clean the cylinder block. Do this with VERYLUBE ANTICARBON.
Requires 1 tube per cylinder.

1. Warm up the engine. Important! The engine should be warm, but not too hot.
2. Disconnect the spark plug leads and carefully remove all the spark plugs.
3. Squeeze the contents of the tube into the cylinder and immediately screw the spark plug back into the cylinder. Repeat this procedure for all remaining cylinders. Make sure that the small ring of the tube does not fall into the cylinder by removing it first!
4. Wait at least 25/30 minutes. Then remove all the spark plugs again. Cover the cylinder openings carefully with a super-absorbent cloth so that the cleaner cannot touch the paintwork. Start the engine 4-5 times for a few seconds each time.
5. Screw the spark plugs back in and reconnect the leads correctly.
6. Start the engine and let it run for 15-20 minutes at high revs. You have now finished cleaning the cylinder block.

Step 2. Clean the engine oil system
The engine oil system must also be properly cleaned. Do this with VITAFLUSH.

1. Add the two cans of VITAFLUSH to the existing oil. Drive for 200 to 800 kilometres and then add one more tube of ANTICARBON to the oil. Now let the engine run for another 10 minutes while stationary, i.e. stop driving.
2. Remove all old oil from the engine oil system and also replace the filter.

Step 3. Refresh the engine oil + TORALIN OIL PRESSURE BOOSTER
Time for new oil. Ensure that you have correct oil available. You can use XADO oil for this. The benefit of XADO oil is that a portion of  Revitalizant has already been added to it. Add a small amount of the new oil to the engine oil system. Now add the first bottle of TORALIN OIL PRESSURE BOOSTER and then top up the system with the correct quantity of the required oil.

Step 4. Add the XADO Revitalizant treatment
1. Bring the engine to operating temperature, squeeze the content of 1 tube of XADO REVITALIZANT into the engine oil filling opening. Close the cap tightly and let the engine run for at least 3 minutes while stationary.
2. Repeat point 1 after driving for 200-300 kilometres. (2nd tube)
3. Repeat point 1 after driving for 200-300 kilometres. (3rd tube)
4. Repeat point 1 after driving for 200-300 kilometres. (4th tube)
5. Repeat point 1 after driving for 200-300 kilometres. (5th tube)

The treatment is completed after driving for a distance of 2500-3000 km. If you have to add more than 1 litre of oil within 1000 kilometres of point 5 (5th tube) then you will also have to add one extra tube (6th tube) of Revitalizant.
